Media Create have compiled sales data for the last full week of the year in Japan, which covers December 21st to December 27th, and they show that Final Fantasy XIII's sales figures have quickly diminished.
Last week, Square Enix's premier title managed to sell just over 1,500,000 units, but this week only a paltry 189,000 were sold. This means it felt to fourth place, as Nintendo dominated the top three spots, with New Super Mario Bros. Wii leading the way, and Zelda Spirit Tracks coming in second.
Friend Collection was in third, selling just under 250,000 units, but Nintendo also had two further self-published entries in the top ten. To emphasise their domination even more, all the other entries aside from Final Fantasy XIII were either on the Nintendo Wii or Nintendo DS.
1. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo, Wii): 506,000 (2,440,000)
2. Zelda Spirit Tracks (Nintendo, DS): 291,000
3. Friend Collection (Nintendo, DS): 227,000 (2,317,000)
4. Final Fantasy XIII (Square Enix, PS3): 189,000 (1,690,000)
