NPD: Madden NFL 12 Outsells Gears of War 3

This month's NPD Group software sales have been published and surprisingly, Gears of War 3 wasn't the best selling game in the USA throughout September.

Madden NFL 12 ended up getting the crown for the best-selling software title, with Deep Island's zombie game, Dead Island, coming in third.

FIFA 12 came in at an impressive fourth, outselling NHL 12 despite being a less popular sport in the country. Sony's Resistance 3 ended up being the 7th best selling game of the month.
