Nyko Showing Off Innovative Peripherals At GamesCom 2009

Nyko are known for their innovative products that really help to enhance the experience possible with existing hardware. At this year's GamesCom, Nyko were again displaying some of their more recent offerings.
On show, was the Perfect Shot, the Wand, the Karma, Type Pad Pro, DSi 8x Zoom Camera and a new induction based charging system. Below, Gaming Union will give you a more extensive look at each of the products, and how they handle.
Perfect Shot
Typically, rail shooters on the Wii lead to serious arm and hand-ache as it's overly awkward to keep pressing the B trigger while pointing at the screen. Nyko have developed the Perfect Shot which actually remaps the B button to a trigger. The Wii Remote then sits on the top and has space open on the back for Nunchuk connectivity.
It really enhances the experience and it's really easy to use. However, it's actually being developed upon. In the latest version, the A button is remapped to the back of the controller, which makes it much easier to use.
Wand/Karma
Nintendo's Wii Remote has been nothing short of a revelation since it was first unveiled, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. Due to this, Nyko have released the Wand. It allows buttons to be completely remapped in peripherals, which is a huge improvement. It also features things such as enlarged buttons and multiple colours.
Taking advantage of this is the Karma, Nyko's version of the Nunchuk. This has a much more grip focused design and also offers rumble features.
Type Pad Pro
Many of the current generation consoles have typing abilities on the console, but using the controller to type is often cumbersome. Nyko have come up with a way to use a type pad, while not giving away the functionality of the Wii Remote. It also allows for the A and B buttons to be mapped on shoulder buttons on the back of the controller.
As well as these three, Nyko were also exhibiting a new camera for the Nintendo DSi. The camera that comes as standard has poor zoom, and lacks any real practical functionality. Nyko have produced a new camera which richly enhances the experience as it offers 8x zoom, with crystal clear quality. They also have a new Charge Station coming out soon, called the Charge Station IC. This will make it possible to charge Wii Remotes using induction technology.
It's good to know that there are companies out there that continue to try and improve existing hardware, and hopefully they can continue to do so in the future.
