Piracy Affecting Chances of Future PixelJunk PSP Ports
PixelJunk Monsters on the PlayStation 3 is one of the most popular on PlayStation Network. However, the PSP port, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, isn't as lucky due to rampant piracy.
Dylan Cuthbert, President and Managing Director of Q-Games, made this statement on his personal Twitter page:
I don't think we'll port anything else to the PSP, we have to see how PJMD does as there's a *lot* of piracy
Piracy has always been an issue for the PSP due to the advent and easy ability to install custom firmware on the system until just recently with later versions of the PSP-3000. The new PSPgo features numerous changes, such as the lack of a UMD drive and voiding the warranty for tampering with the battery, further removing possible avenues for hackers to access the system.
PixelJunk Monsters was released on October 1st in North America, the same day as the launch of the PSPgo.
