PlayStation Vita Action Platformer Sumioni: Demon Arts Coming 2012
XSEED Games have announced that the company will be publishing PlayStation Vita action platforming title Sumioni: Demon Arts in North America come Spring 2012.
"We are extremely pleased to be publishing a unique and artistically distinct game like Sumioni: Demon Arts as a PlayStation Vita launch window title," said Jun Iwasaki, President of XSEED Games.
Sumioni is a 2D, side-scrolling adventure that utilizes the PS VIta's touch inputs. Players take on the role of an "ink demon" summoned to rid the world of evil. Using the touchscreen, players can paint brushstrokes in the levels to "traverse obstacles and avoid enemies." Think of it as a side-scrolling Okami, it even shares the same Japanese sumi-e visuals.
"Sumioni takes advantage of the PS Vita's available control schemes unlike any other title, and its touch-to-draw game mechanics are sure to dazzle gamers looking for something original and exciting to show off just what this new portable system can do," added Iwasaki.
The game is said to boast 30 stages and multiple endings. Check out the trailer below.
