Poor Enslaved Sales Blamed On Release Window

According to Namco Bandai, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West performed much worse than expected because it was released at the wrong time in the year.

Enslaved sold less than 500,000 units when it shipped in October, and Marketing VP Carlson Choi is blaming the saturated market for the unexpectedly low sales.

"We didn't do a good job finding the right time for it because when you look at the quality of the game it speaks for itself. An 80+ rated game is guaranteed a hit. We got DLC that came out that got 10 out of 10. Ultimately, I think that game had the quality needed to address the gamers."

The good thing is that this hasn't discouraged Namco. In fact, they're already thinking about doing a sequel for the title.
