Scribblenauts First Impressions

Scribblenauts is a game being developed by 5TH Cell, where only the players imagination will prevent them from completing the given objective.

The game centres around Maxwell and his quest to obtain Starities. However, to claim them he needs to overcome certain puzzles and these can be solved by summoning items. For example, if a Staritie is out of reach, the player can give Maxwell a ladder, so he can climb it. This is only a very simple example though, as there could be many other ways to obtain the same Staritie.

There are approximately 220 levels in the game, and players will be able to summon animals, weapons, forces of nature, famous people (both fictional and real), vehicles, household objects, and even internet memes as they attempt to obtain all of the Starities.

People have already started having extra-curricular fun with the game, as summoning two living objects can cause them to have a fight. One example saw the summoning of God, a skateboard and a shotgun. Cthulu was then summoned, and a heavily armed, mobile God, went to battle.

This is just one example of the fun that can be had with Scribblenauts and when it ships in September, 2009 on the Nintendo DS, it's not difficult to conceive that YouTube will be absolutely flooded with the various events that people have made happen in the magical world of Scribblenauts.

GamingUnion.net are currently giving away a Nintendo Wii, along with Sky Crawlers and Ghost in the Shell on Blu-Ray. Visit the competition page to find out how you can win.

Just a criticism but you havn\'t described how these objects are summoned. I think you write a word in the game and the object etc is then summoned for use. Is this a DS game too?

This game sounds amazing but we could do with a few more details e.g. how many different things are there to summon. If there are too little it could be frustrating to find yourself frantically putting in things to summon which just aren\'t available.

From what I\'ve heard, the amount of things players can summon is ridiculous. They\'ve included pretty much everything you can think of that doesn\'t have rude connotations.
