SEGA Reveals Sonic Classic Collection for Nintendo DS

SEGA's North American branch has just announced that they will be releasing a collection of many of the classic Sega Genesis Sonic the Hedgehog games, under the title Sonic Classic Collection.

Sonic Classic Collection will include Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic & Knuckles. In addition to the games themselves, all of the games will have a save feature, which was previously unavailable in the first two Sonic the Hedgehog games. An unlockable video showcasing the history of Sonic will also be included. Sean Ratcliffe, Vice-President of Marketing for SEGA of America, had this to say about the reveal:

The Sonic Classic Collection will introduce a whole new generation of gamers to this beloved Hedgehog and take them back to his humble beginnings

No word on the price point, but the game was revealed to have a tentative Spring 2010 release.
