SEGA Send Lawyers After Streets of Rage Fan Project

SEGA has sent lawyers after a fan who spent eight years making a remake of Streets of Rage, which he dubbed Streets of Rage 5. It was completely free and boasted a ton of features.

Not only did it combine elements from the first three games, but it also had 103 stages, 19 playable characters and a plethora of game modes, like Survival and Boss Rush.

However, SEGA look at this and deemed it unacceptable. The game, which could previously be found at Kotaku, SEGA said: "SEGA is committed to supporting any fans that take an interest in our games, and where possible we do so by involving them in Beta tests and other development, marketing or research opportunities.

"However we need to protect our intellectual property rights and this may result in us requesting that our fans remove online imagery, videos or games in some instances."
