Square Enix Making Action RPG For PS3 and Vita

Square Enix’s 1st Production Department, which develops the company’s Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts games, is seeking staff to help develop a Unity engine-powered action RPG for PlayStation 3 and Vita, according to recent job listings.

The first listing is looking for a planner to do work on character growth and customization, including jobs and abilities systems. The second listing seeks planners to work on gameplay over a 3D field, and mentions world maps, air ships, in-air ship gameplay (picture a town in an air ship), and other bits.

Earlier last week, Square Enix announced it was developing a new action RPG for consoles (possibly next generation consoles). Considering this game runs on the Unity engine, whereas the recently announced game is powered by the Unreal engine, the two are more than likely unrelated.
