THQ Looking To Extend WWE Licence Despite Delays

Ever since THQ took over the WWE licence they have helped to thrust the games into the lime-light. The Smackdown vs Raw series consistently sells well and really helps to promote the qualities of sports entertainment.
However, THQ has been slow to renew its licence with the WWE and people were beginning to wonder if this mean THQ would be bowing out of the wrestling scene. However, according to THQ's VP of Investor Relations, Julie MacMeden, this couldn't be further from the truth,
We have the option to extend our video game relationship with the WWE through 2014 and we plan to do so.
The licence is currently shared with Jakks Pacific and it's believed that THQ would like to remove them from the equation. It's also believed that the WWE would welcome this, and THQ have been given an extended deadline to renew their contact so that it can be resolved.
