Ubisoft Explains Watch Dogs PS4 Differences

We've known since February's PlayStation Meeting conference that Ubisoft's Watch Dogs will be coming to the PS4, but until now, there hasn't been much information relating to the differences between that version, and the one that'll be appearing on the PS3 and Xbox 360. This has now been expanded upon by the game's producer.

When taking to the PlayStation Blog, Dominic Guay explained that the core game will be much the same, but there will be some significant differences when it comes to how scalable the game is.

"At the heart is the same game's vision. Disrupt is a very scalable game engine, so what we're doing is, we're preserving the game experience, but if you play Watch Dogs on the PlayStation 4 we want to make sure that we use all of the console's capability."

Guay then went on to talk about how exactly this will manifest into the game by stating that "All of the details in the game are pushed forwards, we have more details, more immersion, we're able to increase connectivity, increase the density of things. So it's the same game experience, but basically magnified on the PlayStation 4."

When Watch Dogs was shown off during last year's E3, it stole the show. At the time, very little was even known about the concept, but since then details have started to filter though. There have also been some more extensive gameplay walkthroughs to show off the potential this sandbox game has.

Still, with the game being developed for high-end PCs and next-generation consoles, it'll be interesting to see how many sales still come on the PS3 and Xbox 360 when the game releases on the 22nd of November. At the moment, Ubisoft have declared that the game will be a launch title for the PS4, but Sony are yet to announce when their next console will launch.
