White Knight Chronicles Online Explained: GeoRama

As explained in yesterday's article, White Knight Chronicles has a fully integrated social networking system called the GeoNet. By using this, players can create their own profiles, do blogs and message other users. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg as far as the game's online component is concerned.

In today's mini-feature we're going to look at the GeoRama, which is a mode that's quite unique, although it may seem familiar to those who have played previous Level-5 titles, such as Dark Cloud.
The GeoRama effectively allows players to create their own towns, which can be visited by other players. It's even possible to put shops in the town, and it effectively acts as a lobby for up to 12 different people (which can then make three games).
There are three base types of scenery: plains, desert and wilderness. From here, players can add lots of different elements, from grass to trees, and even full buildings. It's also possible to put in crates, which are colours, so towns can be used to generate pixel art, or mazes. It's completely up to the player what they want to do with their town.
As well as all of these elements, it's also possible to have NPCs present in the town and these can be unlocked by playing through the story mode. Each of them have unique conditions which allow for them to appear in the town, so it should be fun trying to figure out what's necessary.
White Knight Chronicles is set to be released exclusively on the PlayStation 3 in the West around Spring 2010.
