Wii Fit has been a huge success, having sold close to 20 million units worldwide. However, Nintendo realised that the game had flaws, and wanted to come up with new uses for the Wii Balance Board.
Cue Wii Fit Plus, an extension to the original game. It will have all of the original fitness activities, with six new strength and yoga based ones. However, it will also contain fifteen new games that look to use balance as a starting point, although some are combined with the Wii Remote.
At an event hosted by Nintendo in London, Gaming Union got a chance to test Wii Fit Plus out, although most of the time was spent on the mini-games.
The mini-games range from simulating riding a bike, to flapping their arms in order to make a chicken-suited character aim for targets. There is also a relatively fun platforming game in the style of a 3D Mario Level. Players are tasked with avoiding objects, and jumping over gaps, all by using the Wii Balance Board.
However, it's still difficult to recommend Wii Fit Plus to any serious gamers, as there just isn't enough there. It may be great to help with a few fitness regimes, but for anything more, Wii Fit Plus just doesn't have anything to get a gamer excited.
