Wii Internet Channel is Now Free

Nintendo has just announced that they are sending out an update to the Wii's Internet Channel, which is powered by Opera's Opera browser. This update updates the Flash Player used in previous versions to Adobe Flash Lite 3.1, which seems to have allowed much improved viewing of Flash videos on the console (the previous versions had issues with certain sites and those that did work had caching issues after a set period of time).
Nintendo has also announced that the browser will now be free to download from today onward. Those who purchased the channel earlier will receive a free NES game (worth 500 Nintendo Points). The refunding is set to take place sometime in October, although no exact timeline was given.
