Xbox Live Avatars Will Soon Be Able To Have Pets

Major Nelson has announced that starting tomorrow, gamers will be able to purchase pets to use with their Xbox Live avatars. They will be made available through the Xbox Live Marketplace, and will retail for a modest 240 Microsoft Points.

There will only be a small section instantly available, with gamers being able to choose from: Large Dog, Pug Dog, Dog in Bag, Cat, Siamese Cat, Long Haired Cat, Goldfish, Guinea Pig, Monkey, Bird, Snake and a Pony.

It'll be interesting to see what Microsoft will do next to try and make avatars even more appealing.
