Yu Suzuki: We Can Obtain The Shenmue Licence From Sega

Veteran Japanese video game designer Yu Suzuki has hinted that the Shenmue franchise could make a return if he's able to acquire the licence to the franchise from Sega.

"Shenmue's license is an IP that belongs to Sega," said Suzuki in an interview with French Shenmue fansite ShenmueMaster. "We can obtain the license from Sega."

Suzuki has openly stated that he wrote numerous chapters for the franchise, but it was canned following a poor financial turnaround after the second game.
