It's that time again, as the Gaming Union monthly edition of the PS Vita Round-Up is here to give you all the latest news and all the upcoming scoops.
We'll be taking a look at a comprehensive list of the key upcoming titles for the Playstation Vita and if you thought August was a tasty month, September is looking rather meaty.
So what are we waiting for? Let's dive in and check out what the PS Vita has to offer.
Atelier Meruru Plus
For fans of the Vita port, Atelier Totori Plus, you'll be happy to know that the next part of the trilogy is soon to arrive as a digital download. This title is an enhanced port of the original PS3 title released in 2012. Those who have already played Atelier Meruru will find new costumes, scenes, zones, and bosses.
In this adventure, players control Meruru who is a princess of Arls. After meeting Totori (protagonist of the previous title), she's enchanted by the idea of becoming an alchemist and seeks to become Totori's apprentice. After council from his aid, the king agrees to allow Meruru to become an alchemist, but only she meets goals set forth to aid the kingdom. Like other Atelier titles, emphasis is placed on gathering materials and synthesizing.
Expect Atelier Meruru Plus to hit the Playstation Store September 3rd for North America. No word has been given on European release, let's just hope it's another stealth release.
Like breakdancing, fighting, and rhythm games? Kickbeat oddly enough mixes these three aspects into something unique. As your character is met with seemingly endless swarms of thugs, you are required to hit buttons of directional and beat correspondence to lay down the hurt.
One of the more interesting aspects of Kickbeat is the ability to use your very own music with the analyzer. Once you've selected your track, you can utilize the beat recognition feature to help the game understand your song. Kickbeat is due out on September 3rd in North America and September 4th in Europe.
Looking for that true FPS experience on your Vita console? Guerilla Cambridge seeks to break the mold of failing FPS Vita titles with this rendition of Killzone.
You play as a mercenary taking any job you can in order to fill your pockets and do the bidding of the highest bidder. Raise your rank, purchase gear, and take down the enemy as you traverse locales offering diverse gameplay choices. It won't be easy however as enemies are smart and multiplayer opens up new challenges. Killzone Mercenary releases on September 4th in Europe and September 10th in North America. There's nothing more colorful and well polished as a good Rayman title. After breaking out of Wii U exclusivity, Rayman Legends seeks to leap onto the Vita. Featuring a new heroine named Barbara and new game modes, like musical platforming, there's plenty to be experienced.
You'll be pitted against platforming challenges, use all your pummeling skills to avoid death and save captured Teensies from the evil nightmares. While it released on August 30th in Europe, North America can expect Rayman Legends on September 20th.
Ys: Memories of Celceta
The Ys series has been known for its fast paced action adventure and Memories of Celceta seeks to continue that tradition. Nihon Falcom, maker of the original Ys series, takes on the Ys IV franchise in this rendition. Take control of Adol Christin as he seeks to discover his identity, meet companions, and fight across vast areas and deep dungeons.
Ys: Memories of Celceta is being published by Xseed Games however an exact date has yet to be confirmed. No word on a European release at this time.
FIFA Soccer 2014
It's FIFA time again, and Vita is not going to be missing out on the action. Take your team across the field and send the ball flying into the net with award winning gameplay. New to the franchise is a feature called 'Pure Shot' and an all new ball physics system. Players can also keep connected with friends thanks to new online features and social networking integration.
FIFA '14 reaches Playstation Vita on September 24th in North America, and on the 27th in Europe.
Valhalla Knights 3
In this arena style tactical title, you'll command a group of 7 soldiers that fight against enemies and even other 7 player parties for domination. Choose from 7 different races, as well as 7 different classes including Fighter, Thief, Mage, Archer, Akatoki, Prisoner, and Priest. After building your party, you can set their passive and active skills to fine tune their harmony in battle.
Xseed Games is expected to release Valhalla Knights 3 in North America sometime in September. No confirmation has been given for a European release at this time.
