If you've recently leveled to the peak and mastered all the challenges of your current library, then you've come to the right place. The JRPG Gamer's Guide is here to point you in the right direction to get your next fix. While June looks to be low in quantity, it also looks to excel in time devotion! However before we get started, let us first cover the biggest news of the month.
Since our last guide, we got news from Namco Bandai on Tales of Xillia 2's release date. The PlayStation 3 exclusive JRPG will be hitting store shelves in North America on August 19th and in Europe on August 22nd. Make sure to lock in your pre-order, especially if you've been eyeing the Collector's Edition!
In other news, fans of the monster collecting franchise known as Pokémon will soon get an updated version of Ruby and Sapphire. The new 3D upgraded titles Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are announced to be in development for the 3DS. Not much is known besides being a remastering of the Game Boy Advanced versions, but it's due to release in November of 2014.
Now with the biggest news out of the way, let's see what your wallets may be bleeding over during the month of June. As usual, all release dates are subject to change.
Battle Princess of Arcadias
After their world is overcome by vicious monsters, countries have deployed all of their forces to protect their people. This includes their princesses who are dangerous beauties known far and wide as Battle Princesses. Utilizing large forces, over 900 different weapons, and many battle styles; leap into 2D hack and slash battle against many enemies and switch between characters on-the-fly to claim victory.
As you build your army, you can utilize up to seven unique classes that they fall under. From fencers, to archers, and even gunners. Choosing the right one for the job is key, and raising their honor will only make them more useful in battle. Prepare your commanding skills for this title to hit the PS3 on June 17th in North America and June 18th in Europe. This title will only be available in digital format from the PlayStation Store.
Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist Of Arland
Originally released in 2010 on the PlayStation 3, Atelier Rorona managed to build quite a following for the Atelier series. Now several years later, Gust has brought back this classic synthesizing masterpiece for new and old audiences alike. Featuring a new character model for Rorona, new chapters, new playable characters, a redesigned crafting system, and much more to sink your teeth into.
Also new to this title is its new availability to PS Vita owners. Prepare your synthesizing smarts as well as your time management skills for Atelier Rorona Plus when it releases on June 24th in North America and June 20th in Europe. While the PS3 will get both a retail and digital version, the PS Vita will only be available from the PlayStation Store.
