3D Dot Game Heroes is known for having a lot of unique features. It featured a retro 3D look but with a 2D block charm. It harkens back to the old-school adventure games with an overworld view akin to the original Legend of Zelda. But what most people don't know about the game is that it allows the player to increase...their sword.
In the video supplied by Atlus, the publisher makes a humorous note about how 3D Dot Game Heroes allows the player to upgrade their sword, eventually making it swing at a length which attacks everything on the screen, while playing into the pun that this reference naturally suggests.
The game use the PlayStation's 3 Cell processor to deliver impressive physics which allows the blocks that make up everything in the game to break away realistically, which makes for a very impressive technical effect.
3D Dot Game Heroes will be released in North America on May 11 at a budget price of $39.99. While the finalized release for Europe has yet to be announced, South Peak is working with Atlus to get the game released in that territory as close to the North American release as possible.
