2K announced today that Bioshock 2 will be getting multiplayer downloadable content (DLC) in March, with single player DLC to follow "In the coming months." The first multiplayer content, known as the Sinclair Solutions Test Pack, will be available on Xbox Live and Games for Windows for 400 Microsoft points and on Playstation Network for £3.19. The new content will feature new playable characters, weapon upgrades, trials, masks and an increase in the rank cap to level 50.
According to 2K President Christoph Hartmann, "downloadable content is a key part of our efforts to continue to entice the fans that have made 2K a household name "“ we intend to deliver single and multiplayer content that respects and expands upon one of the greatest fictional worlds ever created." The company went on to say that the planned single player content will include "more narrative, new tools and new challenges that extend the lore and fiction of the failed Utopia under the sea."
Bioshock 2 is available now on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
