Nintendo had a special announcement with Capcom at today's Nintendo Media Summit involving details on the newest Monster Hunter for the Wii.
It was officially announced that Monster Hunter Tri will have a North American release date of April 20th. Tri will also be offered in two variants: One package will include the game along with the new Classic Controller Pro for $59.99, the other offer is the standalone game for $49.99.
It was also announced that there will be no online fees for North American players, which means that anyone who owns the game will be able to play online with no strings attatched. There is, however, microtransactions supported in game and will include 500 points for free with a pre-order.
The microtransactions have worked well for a lot of MMOs to date, and it's a good way to get Monster Hunter off the ground in North America.
