EA has a new slogan for this year's iteration of Madden, "Simpler. Quicker. Deeper." The company has long struggled to balance Madden in a way that attracts new players, but at the same time satisfies the hardcore crowd. They believe that Madden 11 strikes the right mix with a variety of new features.
To draw in casual players, Madden 11 will include GameFlow - a system that calls the plays automatically, placing the player purely as the quarterback in different situations. EA estimate that using GameFlow will cut match lengths in half, from around 60 minutes to a more manageable 30. The hardcore crowd will be able to plan out a playback before the game has started. Of course, this mode will be optional.
As always Madden has a brand new, earth shattering animation system, this time labelled Locomotion. Apparently it will allow players to maneuver more intuitively during a run using the analog sticks.
