Epic Games Announces Action Shooter Bulletstorm

In a press release, Epic Games and EA have officially announced a new title out of Epic's People Can Fly studio, titled Bulletstorm. Bulletstorm is a first-person shooter out of the same studio that has developed the high action, over the top Painkiller series. This new shooter will include a new combat system being dubbed the 'Skillshot System' that rewards players for killing enemies in an unorthodox way. More unique kills award points for unlocking weapons and upgrading the main character, Grayson Hunt.

The story itself follows two mercenaries from a futuristic company called Dead Echo. These mercenaries, Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato, fight through hordes of mutants with massive guns while they try to hunt down the man who put them on this mutant planet.

It certainly sounds like another insanely over the top game coming out of Epic, although Epic probably wouldn't have it any other way. Bulletstorm doesn't have a secure release date yet, but is scheduled to release at some point next year on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
