Mafia II Gets The Dev Diary Treatment, Focuses On Story

Developer diaries seem to be all the rage these days, and for good reason, they're usually well made, informative, and all the juicy details are coming straight from developer's lips rather than a press release sheet. 2K Czech have stepped up with their first of many developer diaries centred around their forth coming August release, Mafia II, for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

If you haven't been up on the game, you're plenty in luck. The game of course is open-world, akin to the Grand Theft Auto games and the likes, featuring leading man, Vito, working for the 1940s and '50s Mafia. The lead developers behind the game cover quite the broad amount of info in the dev diary, from the background of the story and their cinematic approach to story telling, to the friends and buddies Vito makes along the way.

We previously previewed the game at E3 2009 and also at GamesCom 2009, and both times the game shined quite well. Check out the dev diary below.
