Codemasters has confirmed that a new installment in the DiRT series of racing games is in development. In an interview with IGN, F1 2010's (also being developed by Codemasters) Chief Designer, Stephen Hood, revealed that a new Colin McRae game is in the works.
While discussing F1 2010's graphics engine, Hood said: "One of the added benefits is that the weather system we've developed will now become part of the EGO engine so it can feed into all of our future projects such as DiRT 3."
No other details on the game were revealed, so it's largely a mystery at this point. A couple things are certain, the game will contain a lot of dirt, and we'll likely get a lot of dirt on the game at E3 next month.
