Need For Speed World, EA's upcoming racing MMO, has been given a release date alongside the announcement of the free-to-play model set for the game's release on July 20. The client will be free, allowing players to access all of the races and pursuits in the game, as well as the career progression system up to level 10.
There will also be a bonus for those who pre-order the game, allowing a full week of early access to the game, starting on July 13. There will also be guaranteed access to any beta events for players who pre-order, as well as a VIP tag beside the players name, showing off that the player apparently bought the game early. The Pre-orders for what is being called a "Starter Pack" currently run for $19.99.
Need For Speed has definitely been branching out in multiple directions in the past year, especially considering EA previously stated that the series would be taking a break. At least Shift was a step in the right direction, now it's up to Need For Speed World to see what happens in the PC market.
