Natsume has announced that they are bringing the third iteration of the Rune Factory series to North America later this year. The Rune Factory series is a spin-off of the long-running Harvest Moon franchise, which takes the series's farming elements and mixes it with a RPG-like real-time battle system in the game's various dungeons.
The game's story revolves around two groups who are involved in a bitter conflict. The playable character, Micah is unique in the fact that he is half-monster, and he needs to unite the two groups to stop a evil force that threatens them both.
The game also include some new features, such as the ability to have befriended villagers accompany you in dungeons, transforming into the main character's monster form to gain a plethora of new attack abilities, and a multiplayer mode where up to three players can work together to conquer unique dungeons with rare items.
Natsume currently has a late 2010 release window planned for Rune Factory 3: A Fantasy Harvest Moon, and the company will be showing off the game at their booth at E3 2010, which Gaming Union will be attending.
