Today is Sonic the Hedgehog's 19th birthday, according to the release of the first Genesis game in North America, June 23, 1991. To celebrate the blue dude, Sega of America is having a sale on some of his classic titles.

This means on PlayStation Network, Sonic Rivals is $10.99, or bundled with Sonic Rivals 2 for $17.99, with discounts to all Sonic DLC for the PS3 titles. iPhone sales are Genesis remakes such as Golden Axe for $0.99 with Xbox Live Arcade offering any of the Genesis Sonic games for $3.00 a piece.

Happy birthday little guy, you can now legally drink in Canada, that is, if you were a real being. Let's hope your new games make sure you see a 20th birthday. The little blue wonder can make a comeback, I think.
