Atari Europe have announced that they, along with Cryptic Studios, will be working on a new game dubbed, Neverwinter. It will be based on the Dungeons and Dragons property and will, unsurprisingly be based in the city of Neverwinter.
"We're beyond thrilled to develop a brand new version of Neverwinter. It's been years since the original became a gaming icon and we're honored to work with such a great franchise," said Jack Emmert, COO of Cryptic Studios.
In Neverwinter, players will be able to choose from one of five classic classes and team up with friends or AI to form five-man groups. Players will also be able to create their own storylines and quests through a user generated content system which has been dubbed "Forge".
Atari are currently targeting a Q4 2011 release for Neverwinter and it will be released exclusively on the PC.
