We all know Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series, is an absolute genius. What we didn't know was his out-of-this-world plans to bring his games into the fourth dimension.
Kojima revealed through his Twitter account a certain idea he had for Snatcher called the "Smell Plan." When the PC88 version of the game was released, Kojima pitched the idea of having the floppy disc coated in a paint that smells like blood. When the floppy was in the computer for too long, it would heat up, the paint would melt and your computer would "smell of the crime scene."
If that doesn't sound freaky, I don't know what does. It's brilliant.
Unfortunately, everyone was against the idea.
Another idea Kojima had with the paint coated disc was to have it reveal the very same dying message that the Gibson character in Snatcher left behind. The paint would melt away revealing the Japanese characters and more than likely freaking people out.
Isn't that awesome?
