BioWare's Dr. Ray Muzyka announced at EA's Game Showcase that the publishing giant has assumed publishing responsibilities for their upcoming MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.

EA stated in a press release that "certain publishing, marketing and distribution responsibilities previously designated to LucasArts will shift to EA, so that all publishing, marketing and distribution responsibilities can be centralized for efficiency."

"There's not going to be any obvious change for gamers," Muzyka said, "It makes things easier for us to have everything under one roof, and that will eventually benefit players."

As for LucasArts, Muzyka says that they are still "very involved" and will ensure that The Old Republic is "100 percent Star Wars in content and tone."
