Recent statistics released by Pipeworks Software suggest that Deadliest Warrior: The Game, has done rather well for itself since releasing on Xbox Live in July and the PlayStation Network last month.

The game, which accompanies Spike's Deadliest Warrior TV series, has managed to sell 225,000 units and they believe it's because of their design philosophy.

"One of the brainstorm sessions lead to discussions of Bushido Blade and the strategic combat system Square's PlayStation classic used. No fancy combos, no ridiculous powers and health systems - just timing, spacing and strategy," said Spike's Prithvi Virasinghe.
