Square Enix has announced that the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV won't be making its March deadline. Originally Square Enix stated that this was only a prospective date, but it will still be disheartening for those who'd been waiting for the release.
Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada broke the news in a statement on the official site: "Regarding the PlayStation 3, it is not our wish to release a simple conversion of the Windows version in its current state, but rather an update that includes all the improvements we have planned."
It's certainly disappointing news and the fact that no replacement date was set is probably the hardest part of this news. Hopefully Square Enix will make the wait worthwhile.
