A third title in the popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series is inbound this November, according to reports from the LA Times.
With former heads Jason West and Vince Zampella being fired by Activision earlier last year, and an alarming number of employees leaving thereafter, Infinity Ward had lost quite a bit of talent. As it were, Activision moved to call in some support from Sledgehammer Games - who are also working on a Call of Duty spinoff, now put on hold.
Both Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer are working on the single player portion of the new Modern Warfare. In addition, Raven Software was brought in to work on the game's online multiplayer component.
Activision has yet to make an official public announcement about Modern Warfare 3, but unnamed sources say that the game is well into production and ready to be shipped this November, the same period that Activision has released a new Call of Duty title on a yearly basis.
