Nintendo Confident About 3DS' Anti-Piracy Measures

The Nintendo DS was plagued by the R4 cart problem, but Nintendo believe that pirates will have a much harder time trying to get the better of the Nintendo 3DS.

"I think perhaps there's been a 'heyday of piracy' and we've now seen a lot of rules come in to stop it," Nintendo UK's product manager James Honeywell told CVG.

He obviously wouldn't divulged any details as to how they would be preventing pirates, but he did mention that they've learnt a lot internally, but they've also taken advice from third-parties too.

"There are a lot of things we've learnt over time to try and improve the security and protection - not only of our IP but of our third-party publishers' IP as well," he continued.
