The PlayStation Meeting 2011 is a go and Jeff Rubenstein of the PlayStation Blog has a live blog set up. Rumoured to be announced is the PSP phone and PSP2. Kicking it off, Sony has announced something a little surprising: the PlayStation Suite, a cross-hardware framework that delivers PS certified software on mobile platforms like Android.
"I want to share with you one possible solution: Ladies and gentlemen, today we are announcing PlayStation Suite," announced Sony. "It expands the PlayStation experience beyond the PSP border. It is the first cross platform endeavor"
"PS Suite will make PS content available on Android smartphones and tablets," they added.
"The target platform of PS Suite is Android. We will also launch PlayStation Certified to perform content-quality testing in order to ensure PS quality across various devices.
"Users have freedom of choice of their preferred hardware.
"We are preparing to launch PlayStation Store for Android-based devices. By delivering PS content over a wider array of devices, we hope to expand the world of PlayStation."
The PlayStation Suite is slated for release in the next calendar year.
