Price Cuts Expected For PS3, Xbox 360, Wii This Year

Analyst Michael Pachter believes that all three of the major consoles will see price cuts this year, as he believes they're still too expensive for the typical consumer.

"We believe that sticky price points for the three major consoles triggered a five per cent overall decline in console hardware unit sales for 2010," he said in a report to investors.

He believes that Sony will likely move first, as they look to try and ignite sales, following a disappointing December. He only expects there to be a $50 price cut on the PlayStation 3 though.
