It has been announced that Bizarre Creations will cease operations on Friday, the 18th of February as the Liverpool based studio will close its doors for the last time.
The development studio was formed in 198, but renamed in 1994 to Bizarre Creations. They quickly became known for their proficiency in the driving genre, with their break-out hit arguably coming with Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast. This was quickly snapped up by Microsoft, who made it into Project Gotham Racing.
More recently, Bizarre was purchased by Activision and developed Blur and James Bond 007 Blood Stone. But neither performed to Activision's standards and so the decision was made to shut the studio down.
