Online/Mobile Gaming Will Cause Revenue Snowball

The online and mobile gaming sector is well on the rise to overtake console revenue in the games industry, according to investment review findings by Digi-Capital, an investment bank "focused on high growth digital companies."

According to their findings, investment trends are shifting towards the online and mobile sector, reflecting what PCGA president Matt Ployhar noted on the design side of things earlier yesterday.

Digi-Capital believes that revenue from online and mobile games will continue to grow, eventually snowballing the video games market to a sizeable $87 billion market while claiming half of the pie ($44 billion). Online and mobile game sales in 2009 reached nearly $20 billion in revenue, accounting for 30 percent of global video game sales.
