Devolver Digital has announced that Serious Sam 3, a prequel to the previous Serious Sam titles, will be releasing this summer.
Devolver has described the project as a "glorious throwback to the golden age of first-person shooters where men were men, cover was for amateurs and pulling the trigger made things go boom."
In fact, they're actually boasting about the fact the game lacks a cover system, as it discourages camping. The game will feature a 16-player campaign, a versus mode and some all-new melee attacks.
The game is due for release on the PC and "game cnosoles", but while Devolver didn't specify which ones, it's safe to assume they mean PS3 and Xbox 360.
