Rovio Mobile, the Finnish company that created the Angry Birds franchise, has revealed that they've managed to raise $42 million in investment capital.

The company wish to grow the franchise into a huge multimedia brand, and are using Pixar as the model to emulate. To try and achieve this, they've brought on Niklas Zennstrom, the co-founder of Skype, and Atomic Ventures.

On his new position, Zennstrom said "Angry Birds is one of the fastest-growing online products I've seen, growing even faster than Skype, and the company has done a brilliant job of extending it across different platforms and merchandise."
