Mirror's Edge 2 speculation has been rife recently and EA has decided that now is the time to allow even more speculation, as they've stated that the franchise is "very much alive".

Indeed, when speaking to CVG, EA's Frank Gibeau stated that they are "just trying to figure out how to bring Mirror's Edge back and in what way.

"We're actively working on ideas in the Mirror's Edge universe, we just haven't locked yet on a way to bring it back and a way that fans will be excited, but at the same time we can get it to a bigger audience."

In other words, if they release a game, they want to make sure it actually sells, unlike the first game which only saw mediocre sales compared to what EA had expected.
