Insomniac Games have revealed the first details and look at the Resistance 3 multiplayer. Shown at GDC 2011 earlier, Resistance 3 will feature tighter games with only 16 players, as opposed to the 40 and 60 players game in Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2.
"Resistance 3 will offer a very deep and customizable progression system," wrote Insomniac senior community manager James Stevenson on the PlayStation Blog, where "players can create their own progression paths through multiplayer, spending their hard-earned points to customize loadouts that fit their unique playstyle."
Support abilities include a bubble shield, ammo beacon, dash and a holographic decoy. What's interesting is the mention of both personal and combat attributes where players will be able to customize their loadouts where they start with more ammo or even have "the ability to have leapers bust out from your corpse." More importantly, the weapon wheel has been confirmed to be in the multiplayer.
A beta was also announced to hit PSN later this year. First look of the multiplayer mode in action can be found below, courtesy of G4TV, check it out.
