Nintendo's latest addition to the console market, the 3DS, has sold extremely well in its initial Japanese release. The 3DS was able to sell 374,764 units in only the first two days - slightly less than Nintendo originally stated.

According to the data provided by Media Create, during the week of the 21st to the 27th of February, the 3DS was able to outsell all the gaming consoles on the market combined.

The full lists of consoles sold during that period can be seen below. What's interesting though, is the incredible drop-off on Nintendo's other consoles, the DS and Wii:

3DS - 374,764
PSP - 47,955
PS3 - 23,654
Wii - 12,159
DSi LL - 9,093
DSI - 7,802
Xbox 360 - 3,366
PS2 - 1,773
PSP Go - 1,076
DS Lite - 663

The 3DS is going to be released on the 25th of March in Europe, the 27th of March in the US and the 31st of March in Australia.
