IO Interactive Calm 'Dumbing Down' Fears

IO Interactive's community manager has attempted to clarify comments made last week about Hitman: Absolution being dumbed down, by stating that they were taken a bit out of context.

Tore Blystad, the game's director, had revealed that this next installment of the Hitman franchise would be diluted a bit compared to the previous titles in order to boost sales.

However, community manager Nick Price explained that it's not that they want more people to enjoy the game; they want people to enjoy the game more. The idea is to reduce the frustration levels and the amount of reloads. Price hoped that perhaps this adjustment would decrease the amount of returns on the new Hitman game and he insist hardcore fans will enjoy the game the same way they did previously.

Hitman: Absolution is expected to release some time next year on the PC, PlayStation 3, and XBox 360. Expect more information on this come next week at E3 2011.
