Japanese publisher Konami has revealed that Sony platforms dominated its platform sales for the year. They also reserved praise for the sales of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and PES 2011.
PS3 games accounted for 27 percent of Konami's video games sales throughout the year, with the PSP accounting for 20 percent. The Xbox 360 was the worst performing current generation platform, barely managing to outperform the PlayStation 2.
In terms of units, the "Soccer" genre was the most profitable for Konami, with 7.51 million games sold here. The "Metal Gear" genre also managed to sell 1.92 units.
Following the news, Konami pledged support for Sony's upcoming PSP successor, the NGP, and also stated that the Nintendo 3DS would be receiving numerous games throughout the year.
