Following the news that Square Enix is now predicting a net loss for past financial year, the publisher also announced that numerous undisclosed projects had also been cancelled.
Square Enix previously cut their prediction due to the failed launch of Final Fantasy XIV, but the cancellation of projects has now seen them go into the red for the year. They claimed that the cost of performing such an action was around 4.5 billion yen (£34.2 million).
Square Enix is now predicting a loss of 8.8 billion yen for the financial year, which ended on the 31st of March, 2011. But with a strong line-up of titles this year, they are confident next year will be much better.
