Konami Details Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater

Talking about their lineup of games at their pre-E3 show today, Konami and creative producer Yoshikazu Matsuhana revealed a bit on Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater, including some of the new mechanics based on the 3DS hardware.

With Snake Eater taking place mostly in the jungle, it was "the most ideal" of the MGS games to showcase the stereoscopic 3D. As mentioned earlier by Hideo Kojima himself, Snake Eater 3D makes full use of the 3DS' gyroscope. Tilting the 3DS too much might throw Snake off balance if he's crossing a bridge or some narrow path.

With the camouflage system, in addition to using preset camo like Tiger Stripe or Leaf, players can use the 3DS' camera and snap a picture of something to make a custom camouflage pattern. It's aptly called PhotoCamo.

Matsuhana also noted that production of the game is well on schedule before showcasing the game's trailer.
