Sega Announces 3DS Version Of Sonic Generations

After rumors emanated from Japan last week, Sega has officially announced that the next Sonic game, Sonic Generations, will be coming to Nintendo 3DS.

Players should note that with the 3DS version comes a few extra surprises that PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 players won't have access to including an unlockable 3D-friendly 'Special Stage'. Along with that, Sonic Generations will utilize the 3DS' StreetPass allowing players to collect new content from other players. There will also be a two-player versus mode.

Hopefully, Sonic Generations is able to successfully revive the Sonic series. The 3DS version along with the PS3 and XBox 360 versions will all be released this November but be sure to check back for more information come E3 2011.
